Feeling stressed, down, or just looking for a healthy pick-me-up? Try this super simple mood-boosting smoothie filled with stress-busting and mood-boosting nutrients like omega-3’s and magnesium.

It has a perfect mix of fiber-rich carbohydrates, protein and fat to help stabilize your blood sugar, which is key for avoiding energy slumps and anxiety symptoms sometimes caused by blood sugar swings.

It’s also high in magnesium and healthy omega-3 fats which have been shown to improve mood and ease stress and anxiety.

Makes: 1 smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond or cashew milk (use less for thicker smoothies)

  • 1 small banana

  • 2 handfuls baby spinach

  • 1 scoop protein powder (I used Primal Kitchen Collagen Fuel in Chocolate Coconut)

  • 1T ground flaxseed

  • 1T chia seeds

  • 1T unsweetened coconut

  • 1T raw cacao nibs

  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
